Hot on the heels of
his latest poor outing, the Pittsburgh Pirates have optioned P Tom Gorzelanny to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The move's quite a shocker, but as manager John Russell explains it in an AP article in today's paper, "It's something we've been looking at for quite some time. We've been trying to get him back on track the las few weeks and get him to be the pitcher the was all last year... We've seen some improvement, but it's not fair to him or to the team or the organization to continue to have him try to figure things out up here." Here's hoping this move works, but still, I hate seeing our best pitcher of a year ago get sent down.
