RF Xavier Nady missed his fifth straight game with a sprained left shoulder. He likely will miss the three-game weekend series with Toronto, though the Pirates are hopeful he will be ready to go by Tuesday when they open a three-game home series against the New York Yankees. OF Nyjer Morgan, recalled from Class AAA Indianapolis earlier in the day, started in right and went 0-for-5.

C Ryan Doumit sat out a third consecutive game with a slight concussion. Doumit could be available to pinch hit by Sunday and should be back behind the plate Tuesday for the start of the Yankees series. Doumit successfully completed a battery of neurological tests Friday afternoon. C Raul Chavez started and was 1-for-3 with two walks.

So it looks like Nady should be back Tuesday and Doumit could even pinch hit by tomorrow. Here's hoping!
