| Did I say winning streak? ... Because I meant losing streak. The Pirates lost their third straight game, 3-2, to the Cubbies last night. The good news is that McLouth hit a solo homer in the 8th to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. That said, Ian Snell also suffered his first loss in seven starts, giving up 3 runs and 9 hits in 6.0 innings.

| Re: Did I say winning streak? Well, this is getting downright stupid now. Another loss (#6 in a row) and it's a 10-4 thrashing at the hands of the Marlins, who managed 16 hits, including three home runs, off our $10 million dollar man, Matt Morris. Why did we acquire him again? Someone tell me, please! Anyway, we're now 7-12 and back in a familiar position -- last place in the NL Central. Ugh. Every year it's the same thing with this team. A brief glimmer of hope followed by harsh, harsh reality. MLB - Florida Marlins/Pittsburgh Pirates Box Score Monday April 21, 2008 - Yahoo! Sports |
