Pirates claim OF Kevin Thompson

The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed OF Kevin Thompson off of waivers.

According to the Associated Press, "Thompson spent most of the season with the Yankees' Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre farm club. The 28-year-old has a .215 average with one homer and nine RBIs in 41 career major league games with the Yankees and Oakland Athletics." What's the word on this kid? Can he make an impact in the Pittsburgh lineup?

Boy, no wonder why the Pirates can't get out of their own way. I've seen enough of him on the Yankees to say he's a bust.

he can be a cheap productive bench player for the bucos, he is a good defensive OF who can hit decently.

From what I saw, he couldn't hit at all. But I'll guess we'll find out.
