The Pittsburgh Pirates have hired Frank Coonelly to replace Kevin McClatchy as their new team president.
According to the Associated Press, "Coonelly comes to Pittsburgh after previously serving as senior vice president and general counsel in the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball for nine years. In his role, he worked closely with general managers and baseball operations personnel from every team in baseball." And this is the guy who's supposed to stop a streak of 15 consecutive losing seasons? Color me skeptical.
