Sports, "The San Francisco Giants traded veteran righthander Matt Morris to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday for outfielder Rajai Davis and a player to be named... Morris, who made his final start in a Giants uniform Sunday vs. the Florida Marlins, owns a 7-7 mark with a 4.35 ERA in 21 starts for the Giants this season." So what the heck? When did Pittsburgh turn into buyers at the trade deadline?

Well, I do like that they added Matt Morris, no doubt about it. He's a good pitcher, had his ups and downs but then, who hasn't. I guess I was just surprised is all. But if we were going to take the plunge, we should've gone all the way and added another bat or two. The hitting has been our weakspot all year long, and maybe landing a guy like Torii Hunter or someone would've really given us a shot in the NL Central.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports sure doesn't like the deal: "Matt Morris? Really? Unless the Pirates plan to sneak him through waivers and spin him to another team, they inherit his $9.5 million salary next season. And even in a market that overpays pitchers, that's too much for someone who has allowed 162 hits in 136 2/3 innings."

I really don't get this deal on Pittsburgh's end. Why trade for a 33 year old mediocre pitcher who has a WHIP of 1.5 and an ERA over 4.?

Oh Torri Hunter would of been amazing but it almost seems like there just waiting for our lineup to come through like we all know they can maybe we should of gotten someone to replace CF when Duffy is hurt or tired. I don't like the guy we got leading off.
