The Pittsburgh Pirates need to fire GM Dave Littlefield. The fans have had it with his ineptitude, and he's even become a joke throughout the MLB! According to the Beaver County Times, "The question everyone in baseball keeps asking is how the Pirates' general manager keeps his job. He made only two moves of substance in the off-season and while he shockingly got the better of Atlanta's John Schuerholz in trading Mike Gonzalez for Adam LaRoche - though not by much - his signing Tony Armas as a free agent for $3.5 million is akin to flushing fistfuls of $1,000 bills down the drain." And let's not even bring up the Joe Randa signing last year... <shudders>

It's a shame LaRoche is not hitting better. I thought at the time he was just going to be trade bait.
