No surprise that only one Pittsburgh Pirate made it to the All-Star Game. The surprise is which Pirate got the honor. 2B Freddy Sanchez was named a reserve infielder. He leads the team in batting average, but only has 1 home run and 28 RBI on the year. Personally, I think I would've liked to have seen Tom Gorzelanny (8-4, 3.05 ERA, 70ks) get the nod. What do you think?

I was going to say that when I saw the thread. How was he picked over Gorzelanny?

I have no idea. Maybe they felt the pitcher that would've been snubbed was better than the infielders that were snubbed? Cause no Pirate exactly deserved the honor this year.
