Bucs win on 8-run 10th inning

What a game, and what a 10th inning performance from the Pittsburgh Pirates!

According to the AP, "Ronny Paulino's bases-loaded double highlighted an eight-run splurge in the 10th inning Friday night, setting up a 10-4 victory [over the Cincinnati Reds] that left everyone a little numb... The Pirates had lost five in a row largely because they couldn't get a hit with the bases loaded. They finally broke out against a team that has mastered late-game mayhem." AP says it's our most productive inning in nearly three years. They picked a good time for it!

This actually made me sick to my stomach. The Reds are the absolute worst team in baseball so far. If I am not mistaken, they have the worst record. I knew they were going to lose as soon as the bullpen came in. I wish they would just overhaul the whole pen. Get rid of everybody. I see a fire sale in near future. They will get rid of a lot of people.

I didn't mean to make this a Reds post. The Pirates are to be congratulated for their great game. Maybe this will give them some confidence that they finally started getting runners home.

No sweat... the Reds actually should have won yesterday's game, were it not for us getting hot vs. your pen.

This is one of the largest comebacks in recent memory. Congrats to the Pirates.

They should have many games this year if not for their pen. They could easily be contending for the central title this season.

Wow, this is one of the few Pirates games I get to see in a season living here in Indiana. I really only get to see em play the Cubs on WGN, the Braves on TBS and the Reds on FSN Midwest and it sure was a thriller. If I took nothing else from this game though, it would be that Matt Capps really should take over the closer's role. He just seems to have such better stuff than Torres.

Capps is a mixed bag. He can look so good one night and blow a 4-5 run lead the next. I guess that's why both he and Torres are getting save opps.
