Bucs Braves Series

The Bucs are hosting the Braves in a three-game series this weekend, and things didn't get off to a good start. According to the AP, "Andruw Jones and Jeff Francoeur homered in the sixth inning to help the Braves end their longest streak without a homer in 24 years, and manager Bobby Cox tied Sparky Anderson for fourth place in career victories with a 4-1 decision over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night."

Re: Bucs Braves Series

By the way, I also see that this was our 9th loss in 13 games. Hooray.

Re: Bucs Braves Series

Another loss, and some serious concerns about hitting. The Braves beat the Bucs 9-2, and according to the AP, Pittsburgh has "the NL's least-productive except for Washington... Limited to three runs or fewer in 19 of 35 games, they [the Bucs] held a pregame meeting to address hitting problems, then didn't have anything resembling a hit until Bay lined a single into left field on a 1-0 pitch with one out in the seventh. The Pirates didn't have a baserunner until James walked Jose Bautista and Jack Wilson in succession starting the sixth." They haven't been patient at the plate, and Tracy's played with the lineup some, to no avail. Hopefully they find the answer soon.

Re: Bucs Braves Series

Whoo-hoo! Boy did the offense ever come to life today! 13 runs on 18 hits in a big win over the Atlanta Braves today. Freddy Sanchez drove in three runs, Chris Duffy had three hits and scored three runs, Duffy, Doumit and LaRoche all had doubles, Paulino also drove in a pair... nice to see the offense show some life. Now, let's just work on the consistancy, okay boys?
