Bucs hosting Astros

The Houston Astros come to PNC Park for a three-game series starting today. The Pirates have lost six straight games to the Astros at home, and were just 3-7 when hosting Houston in 2006. Maholm (0-2, 6.19 ERA) gets the start for Pittsburgh against Williams (0-2, 6.55 ERA) in tonight's Game 1. Go Bucs!

Re: Bucs hosting Astros

We took the first two against Houston, winning Game 1 3-0 on Tuesday and edging the Astros in a 4-3, 16-inning thriller last night. Adam LaRoche, scheduled to enter the game as a pitcher the next inning, hit the game winning single to score Jack Wilson and hand Houston their fifth straight loss. Of course, none of this would've happened if we hadn't blown a two-run lead in the 9th inning, but still... a win's a win.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

Or as the AP more eloquently put it, "Jason Bay's two-run single in the sixth inning off Wandy Rodriguez gave the Pirates a 5-3 victory Thursday over Houston and their second three-game sweep of the Astros this season." It's also the Bucs fourth straight victory. They're also 6-0 against the Astros this season.
