Pirates vs. Dodgers

Another loss for the Bucs, and another poor performance by a starting pitcher. L.A. roughed up Pittsburgh's Tony Armas for eight runs on seven hits in 2 2-3 innings, and the Dodgers beat the Pirates 10-2. Jack Wilson scored a pair of runs and Xavier Nady drove in on of those runs. Today, Ian Snell takes on Brad Penny in the second game.

Re: Pirates vs. Dodgers

Another day, another Pirates loss. Groan.

L.A.'s Russell Martin hit a walk-off grand slam off of Shawn Chacon in the bottom of the 10th, and the Dodgers beat the Bucs 7-3. According to the AP, "The game was a messy one on both sides, with the Dodgers having three wild pitches and the Pirates two, along with a passed ball. Both teams' catchers -- Martin included -- committed throwing errors." Pittsburgh has now lost four straight and are 2-8 in their last 10.

Re: Pirates vs. Dodgers

Hey, we finally won one today, beating the Dodgers!

According to the AP report on the game, "Adam LaRoche homered and the Pittsburgh Pirates were helped by three errors from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 7-5 victory Sunday that snapped a four-game losing streak... Chris Duffy had three hits, stole two bases and scored two runs, and Tom Gorzelanny allowed three runs in six innings for the Pirates. Pittsburgh avoided a three-game sweep a day after failing to capitalize on three wild pitches and a throwing error by the Dodgers in a 7-3, 10-inning loss Saturday."
