Today, the 4-5 Pittsburgh Pirates start a three-game series against the 2-7 San Francisco Giants. The Bucs have lost three straight after a great start, and will send Zach Duke to the hill against Russ Ortiz in tonight's game. We need to drive in more runs - according to the AP, Pittsburgh has a .192 average with RISP.

Pirates lose, 8-5, to the Giants on Friday. Bonds homers twice and Duke gives up seven runs and seven hits in two innings. On the plus side for us, Chris Duffy had a three-run, 9th inning homer that kept Russ Ortiz from getting a complete game. Sanchez and Bay drove in the other two runs.

Armas goes for the Bucs tonight. Hope he fares better today than he did in his last outing (six runs, eight hits, five walks in four innings). Meanwhile, Pittsburgh will face Barry Zito and hopefully send the $126 million man to an 0-3 start. Game starts at 7:05 EDT

Rain out last night, rain out again today. No make date for these two games has been announced - like with the Indians vs. Mariners series, the Giants weren't scheduled to return to PNC Park this season. So I have no idea what baseball's going to wind up doing.

This weather is goofy... middle of April and Pittsburgh's going to get snow tonight. Proof positive that all new baseball stadiums from here on out need retractable roofs and climate control. I'd hate it, personally, but if MLB wants to play as early and as late in the year as they do, it's essential. Six games were postponed today!
