I'm lovin' this Jim Tracy influence on the young Buc hitters. Jose Castillo hit a three run homer today on a 3-2 pitch. I know Jose wants to let it fly on every pitch and he would constantly get himself into a hole. Jose Castillo with patience at the plate can become a star second baseman. I really like this approach to hitting. It makes the pitcher work harder and that gives the batter an edge.

Pittsburgh hitters with patience? That will help that team out in more ways than one. Sean Casey is already the guy to help fill in those shoes. But everyone else could definitely step up and improve their bats. And, in that terribly tough NL East, wearing down the starting pitchers of those starting rotations will help get to bullpens that aren't as awesome.

Maybe 90-95 wins for Pittsburgh this year. Have to wait on that pitching.
