So one of Canada's sports networks, TSN suggests that Pittsburgh let Philly win? They were thoroughly disgusted that Therrien sat Crosby and felt that this was an attempt to meet Ottawa in the playoffs. Why the hell wouldn't they want to meet Philly. Does anyone have any insight into this. What is the justification for throwing their last game of the year?

I'm sure folks would like to believe that. We wouldn't wanna give Philly credit for beating them on the eve of the playoffs. That is a strange story. I just think they were looking to rest Crosby. The Pens beat the Flyers soundly on at least one occasion this year without Crosby.

I'm not being sarcastic, I just mean that a lot of the media outlets are saying this and I don't get it. The commentators on TSN were really angry about this. Saying that this was the lousiest effort from the pens all year. I didn't see the game but why wouldn't a team want to win the conference. I'm a habs fan and if Pitt threw the game, that means that our credibility is that much lower and Ottawa or Philly? pretty neutral. Why would you have a preference over one or the other. On a different topic, have you been to citizen's bank Park? Pretty modern? I was at Veterans Stadium in '95. Actually saw Ozzie Smith hit a homerun. I was glad to see such a rarity.

Citizens bank park! WOW is all I can say. I've been there about 12-15 times, and I'm hitting the first of 7 games this coming Friday! What a place to see a game.

But I also had a soft spot for the Vet! I went to over 100 games there over the years. That place took a lot of criticism, but to me it was just a fun place to go. Very spartan I guess, but today's standards. But I went there to see my Phillies play. So I was always excited to go!

Yeah, I have a hard time believing we threw the final game, although we did rest some guys to get healthy. Not playing our starters is a far cry from throwing the game though, and I'm still trying to figure out what possible benefit the Pens would've gotten by tanking it. Bottom line is the Flyers whipped us, pure and simple. Media conspiracies like this make me laugh.

I think Therrien didn't want Philly to mess up Crosby. The Flyers are a very physical team and we have taken out one of their palyers. I doubt they threw the game, however our power play was terrible, I mean come on. Not very Pens like.
