without a doubt. Crosby was definitely the poster child for that organization until his injury and then Malkin put the team on his back and has carried them ever since with some supporting roles of course. That being said, whether Washington makes the playoffs or not, Ovechkin will be tough to beat for the Hart.

And he deserves it, no doubt. The only shot Malkin has is if people consider the surprise factor, take into account all the injuries Pittsburgh has had around him, and if the Caps miss the playoffs and people count that against Ovechkin. I don't believe all those things will happen, but if they do, then Malkin's got a shot.

yes, and how malkin has taken his play up a notch when crosby was out, definitely makes him in contention, in the face of adversity and all that.

I'd say it's been more of the Malkin line Sakora and Malone have been stellar in helping Malkin getting those goals and assists. In fact their line might be the best in the NHL. It will be interesting how teams deal with the Pens two scoring lines.
