Gonchar Out For 4-6 Weeks

Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar will be out four to six weeks with a broken left wrist, his third significant injury in slightly more than a year.
Gonchar, who went into Wednesday’s games third in scoring among NHL defensemen with eight points, missed the first 56 games of last season after undergoing left shoulder surgery.
The 35-year-old also played the final two rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs last spring with a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee, although he missed only two games.

Now Malkin will be out 2-3 weeks after injuring his shoulder, Pens Demolished the Habs last night at Mellon Arena 6-1 as Sidney Crosby scored 3 goals for his 3rd career hat trick. It's a good thing the Pens banked 10 wins, with all the injuries now, including Tyler Kennedy (groin), Gonchar, Malkin, and Stanley Cup hero, Mad Max Talbot, they're gonna have to start winning the lower scoring games now in front of Marc Andre' Fleury, and we'll see if Crosby picks up his game, much like Malkin did last season when he was hurt.

WOW! What a comeback win for the Pens against the Bluejackets, 4-3 in a shootout, as Sid The Kid scores his 5th consecutive shootout goal to make the Pens 11-2 with this win being the 6th consecutive road win, and the 4th shootout win of the season. Way to go champs!

Yea it was, especially since the Pens out shot them, out hit them, and just plain out worked them, didn't help much that Sid took a 5 min major for fighting either. another issue of course is the injuries, i foresee many low scoring games like this, that they're gonna have to battle through, till the guys start coming back.

Don't get too upset over it. It is a long season, the Penguins are good.

Re: Gonchar Out For 4-6 Weeks

Pens 4 Ducks 3 Another great 3rd period comeback, the Pens find a way to win or tie games in the 3rd period, no powerplay, the make up for it by outworking the other team. Yea it is a long season, but so far they have proven to be a dominate road team, they have a killer instinct to keep answering goals, They get production from they're 2nd & 3rd lines, they can win the high scoring games, and now they're impressing me winning the low scoring games too. Tyler Kenedy is back on his game, just think what they'll play like when all injured players are back. They're depth resembles the Steelers, how they can plug holes due to injuries.
