NEW YORK -- Sam Young scored 22 points to lead
Pittsburgh to the Big East tournament championship game for the seventh time in eight years, this time with a 68-61 victory over No. 25
Marquette on Friday night.
The seventh-seeded Panthers (25-9) will meet top-seeded and ninth-ranked Georgetown for the conference title for the second straight year on Saturday night. The Hoyas won last year's game 65-42. Pittsburgh has one championship game victory, over Connecticut in 2003.
Just like last season, Pittsburgh reached the title game without benefit of a first-round bye, beating Cincinnati and second-seeded Louisville in its first two games.
