Phoenix vs. San Antonio: 2008 NBA Playoffs

The Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs will lock horns in the opening round of the 2008 NBA Playoffs.

1. Sat, Apr 19 – at SA, 3:00 pm EDT (ABC)
2. Tue, Apr 22 – at SA, 9:30 pm EDT (TNT)
3. Fri, Apr 25 – at Pho, 10:30 pm EDT (ESPN)
4. Sun, Apr 27 – at Pho, 3:30 pm EDT (ABC)
*5. Tue, Apr 29 – at SA
*6. Thu, May 1 – at Pho
*7. Sat, May 3 – at SA (TNT)

Well, this is why they got Shaquille O'Neal. So can he help the Suns overcome the favored Spurs in this one?

Could well be. I heard Skip Bayless on ESPN today calling this a match-up of the two hottest teams in the West. So who takes it?

Hard fought contest, but the Suns fall 117-115 in double OT last night. So what does Phoenix need to do to rebound in Game 2?

Phoenix needs to play smarter basketball. That three that Duncan hit was partly because Shaq was standing and watching the play, and partly because Nash was chasing Ginobili around when he was five feet from the basket. With that much time left you have to realize that a 2 doesn't hurt you and you have to find whoever is open at the three point line and cover them. The Suns also need to capitalize on easy opportunities. I saw Diaw miss a few bunnies around the basket, and the Suns were fighting amongst themselves for some rebounds that they ended up losing out of bounds. The Suns are the more athletic team, all they need to do is be smart and they can win this series in 6 or 7. Oh and Amare, please don't foul out again!

Yeah, Spurs just have too many weapons. Parker goes for 32, Ginobli gets 29 and Duncan has 18 points and 17 rebounds. Go to stop one and one of the other two will get you. If it wasn't for Steve Nash and that comeback he led, this one would've been even worse.

Re: Phoenix vs. San Antonio: 2008 NBA Playoffs

pheonix played a very good game last night, IN THE FIRST HALF! they played horribly in the second half. i think they scored 2 points in the first 9 minutes, and 11 in the quarter. and 5 of those were because of the hack-a-shaq from the spurs. the suns didnt score 11 points in the third because of the defense of the spurs. they just didn't want the game as badly. they were tentative and not as aggressive as they were in the first half. playing against the spurs and being down 2-0 in the series gives the suns about a 2% chance of winning. But theres still a chance...

Re: Phoenix vs. San Antonio: 2008 NBA Playoffs

The Suns are still alive after a 105-86 win yesterday.
Boris Diaw had 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, and Raja Bell added 27 points in the victory.
The series now shifts back to San Antonio for Tuesday's Game 5.
