At the time this happened, I was of the opinion that this dive by Shaq into the stands was excessive. After reviewing it a few more times, I stand by my initial take. He didn't need to do this, but after all, Shaq is an egomaniac, and this is at least part of what the Suns signed up for when they traded for him.

The Suns are going to get 110% effort from Shaq for at least the rest of this season, that goes without saying. They'll just have to put up with theatrics like this along the way, because Shaq wants to make damn sure that if he's going to go all out like this, that we all notice when he does.

i'm fine with it. mainly cuz i'm a suns fan. he prolly thought he had something to prove since they were 4-6 with him in the line up. he didnt want to seem like he was slowing the team down. besides it got the fans and team even more fired up. and o yea, HE HAD TO JUMP INTO THE STANDS. i was watching that game live and there was 2 little kids right there. if he didnt jump over them he woulda landed on them and pancaked em. i guess that would be a shaq cake
