MVP candidate Nash held scoreless

Steve Nash was held to the gooseegg in a 40 point loss to the Nets Monday night. I know everybody can have a bad game, but could you imagine Jordan, Bird, or Jabbar going scoreless?

No, no I can't picture that. What a sad display for the reigning MVP.

Re: MVP candidate Nash held scoreless

Does anyone know what the hell happened in this game? Something more specific than The Nets embarrassed The Suns. Was it just poor shooting? Honestly, I have never heard of a favorite losing like this.

Jordan, Bird, and Kareem were scorers. Nash CAN score, but he's an opportunistic scorer, he takes what you give him.

I'd be more worried if Nash went scoreless and assistless. This game was just a fluke if you ask me.

This is probably the right line of thought on the issue...Nash looks to run the team and pass before looking to shoot...

I do remember Bird having some playoff games when his shooting was off and passing a heck of a lot more...not a goose egg in those games but not Larry Legend either...the better players will take what the defense is willing to give up...

Re: MVP candidate Nash held scoreless

Thats true to an extent. Someone has to create offense otherwise the defense will not be forced to give up anything and hence there will be nothing to take. Nash creates his own shot and when his teammates start knocking down three's then the lane opens up and he can hit his own jump shot or one of those floaters he has perfected so well. But yeah, I prefer him as a pass first, shoot second type of player.
