Word has it that the Phillies are in talks with the Baltimore Orioles in an attempt to acquire first baseman-outfielder Jeff Conine. What does everyone think about this potential trade? Will it happen, and if so, is it a good more for Philadelphia?

It doesn't make much sense, actually. Why would we want Jeff when we have our star player - Ryan Howard - at that position?

Don't know what it would cost, but I wouldn't pay much. Sure the Rowand injury hurts, but at this point in the season and with the mediocre competition in the National League, you need to go with what you have. Let the kids play and let's see what the 2007 roster will look like. We need to resign Delucca and find another home for Pat the Bat. I don't understand why Philhopeful is knocking the Eagles. I expect the Birds to go 11-5 and challenge for the NFC Championship. Just because Philhopeful is stuck in Texas doesn't mean that he has to worship those Friday Night Lights wana bees. I thought the only things that came from Texas was "Steers and Queers"..
