They interviewed quite a few of them on Comcast Philly tonight, and to a man, they all said this stuff is old.

I guess the only thing you could take as trash talk would be this.

They feel they are the defending champs, so the issue of being the team to beat in the division is a moot point.

Someone has to take them down to claim that title, especially in the division.

I think that's fair enough. No predictions of a WS repeat, no predictions for number of wins, just sort of a team vow to play like they did this past season.

Play hard every night, and see where you are at crunch time.

I'd love to see them at least back in the WS, but it's always tough to repeat.

And I know the Yanks and Sox are dying to prove they are back on top!

I would love to see this team face off against either one, and give them a series to remember! That would be a blast.

Winning was fun, but I'd like to have beaten a traditional power team. I think to truly be seen as the best, you have to beat teams that are always in the thick of things.

no shame in what they did last year imo ..... the Yanks and Sox each had their chance just as much as anyone and have no one to blame but themselves

True enough. I'm pretty darn proud of these guys!

My biggest love in the stick and ball sports is baseball, so this was very satisfying!

I might have even gotten something in my eye at the end!

Problem witht he Mutts is they are the 2nd place team in their own town (and a distant 2nd at that). So they try everything and anything to get attention on them and away from the Yanks... which is hard to do. Having lived in NYC when I was right out of school, it is a tough sports town. Media is just a killer and I have always said, it takes a special player, in any sport, to be able to handle the media glare on a constant basis. Some guys can take it for a couple years but you have to admire guys like Jeter who have been there 10+ years. Mutts still have a lot of holes and question marks. If they trip coming out of the box, well don't think fans will be too happy.

Oh I hope so too. My old room mate at PSU and in NY was a die hard Mutts fan. Last 2 years, and especially this past year, have just been a joy for me. Don't even have to open my mouth.. just look at him and smile. Just φφφφes him off till no end. And he married a girl from Philly which makes it even better.
