So does bring up this question...in this age of bad pitching how many games would it take to measure up to Joe D's 56 games?

Utley got an infield hit. Although it possibly could have been ruled an error, I think it was a hit. The pitcher took his time throwing the ball to 1st because he looked the runner at 3rd back. Even though Puljols was pulled off the bag, Utley had already beaten the throw.

The way the rules read, it's a hit. Mental errors cannot be ruled an error. Then he hits a routine ground ball to short, the guy kicks it, and that's ruled a hit. Joe D must be rolling in his grave.
