Phillies send Fasano to Yankees

The Philadelphia Phillies have traded catcher Sal Fasano to the New York Yankees for for minor league second baseman Hector Made. Fasano, who had be designated for assignment by Philly, hit .243 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in 50 games for their club. Meanwhile Made, 21, had been batting .286 with 3 homers and 28 RBIs in 86 games for Class A Tampa of the Florida State League. He will remain in Class A and play for Philly's Clearwater affiliate. Reactions to this deal?

Cool Re: Phillies send Fasano to Yankees

I guess the Yanks think he's better than Kelly Stinnett. I wouldn't be shocked to see Stinnett released or sent to the minors.

WOw, Fasano may not be a producer but he's a fine catcher. If nothing else, his stache is cool.

Re: Phillies send Fasano to Yankees

I guess the Yankees had no use for minor-leaguer, Hector Made. Robinson Cano stands as a solid second-baseman who will probably finish up his career as a Yankee. He isn't an Alfonso Soriano, but he is decent.

The Yankees cannot rely on Kelly Stinnett at his age.
