It was a tad bit late to realize that their decision was wrong. They made an incorrect procedure to the problem that arose, and they can do nothing about it now. Unless they have some kind of time machine in the clubhouse, they won't be able to change the past.

My thoughts exactly. It irks me when pro teams do things of this nature. They do something stupid and then acknowledge it after the fact to save face and gain some PR. Well, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out allowing a "alleged" wife-beater to pitch the day of his arrest/release was a poor decision.
