Yeah but they send Ozzie Gullien to sensitivity training...and Myers is in a "'catch and release program"...I don't get it...

First the Nationals rolled over for the Red Sox(did Soriano hit the ball in his three games at Fenway?) and now the Phillies. These teams kill themselves to beat the Yankees, yet when they play Boston they look like they don't even belong in the majors. The Nationals should have been contracted when they were the Expos. It is no wonder Frank Robinson cries during the games, so would I.

Here's the 911 call transcript of the June 23 Kim Wickman Brett Myers fight:

"There's a guy like beating up his girlfriend," a woman told Boston's 911 operators during the June 23 incident.

"I got a guy smacking a girl around right in front of the Hynes Convention Center. She's crying. She's got no shoes on," a man reported. "He's a pretty big guy ... and he's hitting her hard."

Myers is 6-foot-4 and weighs 240 pounds. His wife, the former Ohio University field hockey star Kim Wickman Myers, is a foot shorter and 100 pounds lighter than her husband.

The couple had been in Boston for a series vs. the Red Sox. They had left a bar and were walking toward their hotel in the city's Back Bay section, where visiting teams stay.

Kim Myers reportedly told police that her husband punched her twice in the face. Police reportedly said that Myers' face was swollen. As the Inquirer points out, Brett Myers was arrested and charged with assault and battery. He was freed after his wife posted $200 bail.

Sly Egidio, a 30-year-old former Marine who runs a sports collectibles business in Boston, told the Inquirer he placed one of the two 911 calls on the transcript provided by Boston police.

Egidio said he did not think the Phillies have taken the incident seriously enough.

"The whole thing just irks me," Egidio said in an interview with the Inquirer. "It irks my friends. It's just disgusting."

He reportedly said he and two friends had left a restaurant when they saw a man they now know to be Myers rear back and punch a woman.

"He hauled off and smacked her across the face," Egidio reportedly said. This wasn't an argument. This was bad."

Kim Myers was on the ground, he said, and Brett Myers yanked her up so hard her shoes went flying. In the 911 transcripts, Egidio apparently emphasized that the victim was not wearing shoes.

I'll never look at Myers the same way after this. How the Phillies handled the whole thing back in June and afterwards was/is dispicable. They practically did nothing.

I think this situation ruined Brett Myers' reputation for the rest of his career. Isn't that enough punishment for one guy?
