Ryan Howard fastest to 150 HR's

Ryan Howard became the fastest player in major-league history to 150 homers when he went deep in his 495th game Wednesday night. That beats Eddie Mathews (569 games), Ralph Kiner (570), Albert Pujols (586) and Mark McGwire (588 games)

Given the amount of strikouts, the low batting average, and the poor fielding, is this enough of a reason to resign him for big money?

I'm thinking no, but how does the rest of the baseball world feel?

Big money? Depends how big we're talking. They should make an effort to keep him around, but he shouldn't get anywhere close to A-Rod money.

I agree with that. I think this years repeat of the strikouts and the low BA are going to hurt him. And he seemed to be wishy washy on whether he want to return here.

I really get the feeling from him that he would do a Scott Rolen, and take less money to play eslewhere.

I could be reading him wrong, but we will see. I just miss the old Ryan, the happy one. I don't expect him to turn it around in one month. But I would like to see improvement.

He did pick up the avg by about 20 points, and is now keeping it there. and he is on a 7 game hit steak.

I think he is at 22 HR's and about 75 RBI's, nothing to sneeze at.

But it is all or nothing with him.
