Brett Myers sent down to the minors

Wow, Brett agreed today to go down to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.

I'm not surprised that a change took place, but I didn't think this would happen!

Yeah, seriously. But it shows that he knows there's a problem, and it's nice to see he's not being a primma donna about it.

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

Very true. In spite of his off the field stuff last year, he has always tried to do his best for the team.

I do give him that. I hope he can get himself right. Brett is needed here to get back to the playoffs!

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

He needs to decide what he wants to be. The announcers were talking about how in his last start he abandoned his fastball after the 1st inning, when his fastball is his bread and butter. I think his problems are all mental, starting with the Lidge trade. Think he really liked being the closer last year...he does have the personality for it. But he has just looked horrible all year. Amazing to think we are doing this well on the backs of Hamel, Moyer and Kendricks. Obviously we will need to either bring up someone from the minors or go out and try and get a top-line SP by the trade deadline. If the Phils do not bring up Happ or Carrasco then they are saying "it's trade time".

Talk on Daily News Live tonight was about Happ coming up!

We shall see. I'm going to the mets game on Friday, so I hope Hamels still starts that game!

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

He was Friday, until they made this change. This sucks. I've had Moyer or Myers evertime I go.

Couple of times with Eaton.

Well think you will get either Durbin or whomever they bring up.

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

I'm just so mad. I really wouldn't have gone without Cole pitching. That was the main reason I told me bud I'd go. I have only gotten to see him pitch in person once.

Three of my six games last year, and one of the four this year have been Moyer. He is such a sloooooooooooooooooooow worker!!!!!

I might be home by Sunday morning with him pitching!

I'm just kidding about not wanting to go without Cole on the mound, but I am disappointed.

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

I think last year, we had the sunday plan, my son and I saw Moyer and Eaton at least 10 out of the 14 games. Got Hamels once. You would think Hamels would get more Sunday starts as they are the marquee games but guess not.

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

I get the MVP six packs, then pick up some other games along the way.

Much the same deal, for some reason.

Being a big race fan, I couldn't do the Sundays!

Ah well. The Mets, fireworks, the ball park, and the Mcfaddens girls, what could be better on a Friday!?

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

I've been going since about 1978! ( I had to come back and edit that one! I posted 1984 the first time. I just saw my race program from 78!)

Great sport, just an acquired taste, I guess.

WAY more than just going fast and turning left, but that's another topic!

Re: Brett Myers sent down to the minors

Actually, I do! Some race fans don't like it, or Days of Thunder. I can watch either!

I love the sport, but I can laugh at it too!

KInd of the same with Days. Not really an accurate movie from the racing end, but fun.

And I watch movie for the same reason I watch the games/faces!

To have fun!
