| Re: Ryan Howard sits, good move? I have been saying that for the past year. As I refered to him on a previous post... he is this generations' Dave Kingman. And somehow he "deserves" $10M a year. I said it before, I say it again... do not sign him to a long term deal until he proves he can do something more then hit HR or K's. |

I think he will get a lot better, but I do think it was time to let him sit a game out. Next time I wouldn't even pinch hit him. |

| Re: Ryan Howard sits, good move? Exactly... his fielding has always been, well questionable is not the right word, but it needs work. You put up with it because he had power, but when the power vanishes you start to notice all the other things more. More and more you start to wonder if the ROY and MVP were just something to tease us... like will he ever approach those levels again... or will we just get enough glimpses to keep sucking us in, i.e. Eric Lindross, Derrick Coleman... guys whose potential was fantastic but whose actual production is just average. |

| Re: Ryan Howard sits, good move? I wouldn't throw Lindos in there. Injuries killed his game. He still ended up with better than a point a game scoring average. The concussion took away the physical part of his game, which pretty much finished him. But he was the real deal for 7-8 seasons. + He ended his career with 372 goals, 493 assists, for 863 points in 760 games. Pretty good numbers! BTW, I had to look that up! I'm not that good! |
