Pedro Feliz signs with the Phils!

I'm pretty happy with this signing. He is an upgrade at that position. He does strike out a bit, but that fits right in with this team!

How 'bout it, Phils fans? Sound off with your thoughts!

Well, like Gillick said, he's a better defensive player and he can bring in runs. Yeah, he's got flaws, but it's a good signing for Philly.

They told Jimmy Rollins, and he looked like he just got winning lottery ticket! He had a grin from ear to ear. If he's that happy about it, so am I!

Check out the top video under "multimedia"!

Thumbs up Re: Pedro Feliz signs with the Phils!

I am mixed. He does K an awful lot and only has a .252 career avg.... Helms, Dobbs and Nunez did that combined last year. People talk about how great his glove is, but Nunez had a great glove also. He does have some power but with Rollins, Utley, Howard and Burrell did we really need more power?? Wouldn't a guy who gets on base more be what we need??? This guy is going to hit out of the 7th or 8th spot most likely. Yes the price we paid was fairly cheap but I would have preferred Joe Crede.

Re: Pedro Feliz signs with the Phils!

Well, I look at his numbers, and can't help but think they will be better at our ballpark. And he is a righty, which we are short on. And, yes, his overall numbers are about the same as the three he platooned there last year.

But that is kind of a good thing to have one player do the job that three did last year. We have already let one of those go, and maybe another can go to get a bit of a deeper bench. I always think having an everyday player is better than a platoon situation.

I think it will benefit the team in the long run. We shall see. You make a good point, but I'm hopeful it will work out!

I agree it is better to have one player do the job of 3 platoon players. You can let them go and concentrate on other areas of need. Maybe get a closer to put Myers back in the rotation.

Didn't miss...just completely forgot . That is one spot they don't have to worry about.
