Not only did he get a hit yesterday against the Rockies, he drove in the game winning run in the 10th inning as the Phillies won, 6-5. Howard was 2-for-5 on the game and still remains one of baseball's streakiest players right now, but he sure came through in the clutch for his teammates last night.

Beat me to it. Even in a year where he has missed time, and been on a nasty slump, he is still batting 266 with 115 RBI's.

I'll still keep him on my team!

If he hits a good streak anywhere during this last couple of weeks, even if it's only for a couple of games, we'll be fine!

He is the Dave Kingman of this generation. He is just so damn frustrating to watch. That AB in the friday game in NY agst Wagner was a perfect example. 3 pitches 3 swinging strikes.

I just hope he gets it out of his system this season, and get's back to a "normal" level next year. We'll see as his carreer goes on if he can cut down on the K's! He is gonna have to!!!

Ryan's on the cover of the new MLB '08: The Show game. Here's the press release and picture:

Sony Computer Entertainment America announced that Ryan Howard, the All-star first baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies, has been selected as the cover athlete for MLB 08: The Show. Howard is only the second player in MLB history to win Rookie of the Year and MVP honors in successive seasons, and lead the league in home runs during his 2006 MVP season with 58 homers. Howard also won that year's All-Star Game Home Run Derby with 23 runs, and also won the 2006 National League Hank Aaron Award for being the top hitter that year. On top of his awards, Howard managed to become the fastest player to hit 100 home runs last year, shattering a record that stood for almost sixty years.

"Ryan Howard's personality and work ethic exemplify what our baseball franchise is all about and we are thrilled he has chosen to represent MLB 08 THE SHOW," said Scott Steinberg, the vice president of product marketing at SCEA. Oh man..MLB08 in looking really good..Sucks for you....It looks like the only decent baseball game this year. They added in game and post-game pitching and batting analysis for stat hounds like me. Also a jukebox so you can jam your own tunes. About Ryan Howard, you are right there is a curse with box covers....Usually what happens is the guy gets hurt....If I was big player in any sport I would try to avoid the box covers.....But I guess their egos trap them in the curse!
