I don't think they would here. While most of us do think they could have done better the Charlie when they hired him, I don't know that anyone could have done much better with a pitching staff like this one. With the injuries, and the GM not doing a better job of bringing in talent, I think he did the best he could.

It will be interesting to see what happens with his contract, with GM Pat Gillick leaving, I bet he won't get more than a 1 year extension.

If he gets Manager of the year, they would like pretty inept not locking him up for more than one year, but stranger things have happened!

Willie gave the Phillies their early Christmas gift. Too bad the city of Philadelphia won't win a championship no time soon though. The 76ers suck, the Eagles suck, the Phillies suck and the Flyers suck.

We'll see about that. The Flyers will be much improved this year, and who would your baseball team be? Unless it's one of the eight in the playoffs, seems you should just be happy for those who are, or take the nagatives elsewhere.

What does your post have to do with the job Charlie did this year?? The Mets choked, but you can be manager of the year without even making the playoffs, and even though he is not my fave, he also doesn't coach/manage the three other big teams in the area.
