Phillies P Jon Lieber is injured and might miss the rest of the season.

According to the Wilmington (Delaware) News Journal, "Lieber, diagnosed Wednesday with a strained muscle near his ankle, underwent an MRI exam Saturday that revealed a ruptured tendon that runs along the bottom of his foot and attaches to the toe. The injury, rare among pitchers, typically requires surgery... Lieber went on the disabled list and will meet Monday in Philadelphia with team doctor Michael Ciccotti and foot specialist Steven Raikin. He said it will be six to eight weeks before he can resume throwing if he doesn't have surgery. But without surgery, he has been told he could lose muscle strength near the tendon." He's expected to be out until at least September.
