| Phillies P Cole Hamels Awesome performance from Phillies P Cole Hamels yesterday. According to delcotimes.com, "In perhaps the most dominating performance by a Phillies southpaw since a guy nicknamed for his throwing arm was sculpting a Hall-of-Fame career, Hamels struck out 15 Reds and got enough offense from Chase Utley to carry the Phillies to a 4-1 victory at Great American Ball Park... It tied Hamels with three other 15-strikeout performances for the fifth-most in a single game in team history."

| Re: Phillies P Cole Hamels This kid Hamels continues to impress. According to the Associated Press, "Hamels (9-2) allowed two runs and six hits in eight innings" in Philly's 7-3 win over the White Sox yesterday, and he "has emerged into the staff ace in just his second season. The left-hander struck out eight -- one in each inning -- and walked one. He also leads the league in strikeouts (104) and homers allowed (16)." How good is this kid, and will he be able to continue to pitch at such a high level? |

| Re: Phillies P Cole Hamels I sure hope he can. He has turned in to only guy they can count on. Leiber has done OK since coming out of the pen, but with Garcia going down for the year, he is going to feel some pressure now. I hope he can handle the pressure. If he can, he just might be the pitcher we've been waiting years for! |
