The answer is a big yes! But no a HUGE deal, just one in the 1 mil range. The Phils have been burned over the last 15 years or so, and I'm good with having the big guy show me another year.

No way they should leave him at the salary he has now though, he has earned a bump! Share your thoughts!

He will be eliglible for a big raise after this 2007 season. For now he is still under contract, but a bump would be nice! If his deal was up, I'd say throw the money at him!

Not sure if you knew his contract status, I should have mentioned that! Does that impact your thoughts at all? It doesn't really for me. I do think he should get more money! I would not want him unhappy, and he deserves the money! He will get rich beyond his dreams if he does his thing for one more year!

You can pay him now or pay him later...a bump will earn some good will...cause come next year...he will command big, big, big money.

I say give his money when his contract expires. I hate when players have a good year and then want more money. They had to agree to it to when they signed. They do not give the money back if they don perform at the same level. Now, if he agreed to that, I say give him a raise this year.

And he hasn't asked for a raise. The team is just dicussing giving him one. So far, he has not acted like a spoiled athlete!

See now the reason Manny does hit, is partly cause he is a head case...He does not study the pitcher etc...he simply clears his head, sees the ball and hits...so don't tamper with the Man thier Simon...
