The Phillies won their fourth straight game yesterday, beating Florida 8-6 as they look to keep pace with the Dodgers in the Wild Card race. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, "The Phillies have won four straight games for the first time since Aug. 19-23, when they won five in a row. They have won nine of 11, and their 14-7 mark in September is the best in the league. Their 37-20 mark since July 26 is the best in the NL and second-best in baseball." Think they'll be a playoff team when all's said and done?

Nope.

My boys from Los Angeles will win win either the NL Wild Card or the NL West Division. That means that the Phillies will have to wait until next season or so for another chance into the post-season. The Dodgers deserve it for a hard years work.

If they keep playing like they are now, they should at least be in it until the final days of the season. A winning streak like the Phil's have now is exactly what a team in their situation needs.
