Howard Is Series Strikeout King

Ryan Howard’s home run trot has been replaced by a trudge back to the dugout.
The Phillies’ big bopper has gone down swinging more than he’s gone deep. He went 0 for 4 and added three more strikeouts to his growing postseason K total in Philadelphia’s 8-5 loss to the Yankees in Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday night.

Howard usually mixes in the long ball with his big whiffs, but his power has been extinguished by the Yankees. He has two postseason homers—none in the first three games of the Fall Classic.
Howard avoided that dubious distinction when he popped out to shortstop in the fifth inning to end the streak. It didn’t last long: He struck out swinging against Damaso Marte in the eighth for his 17th strikeout in the postseason.

I'm sorry but how many times did A Rod strike out in game 1 and 2? Us Phillies fans are honestly used to him having streaks like this then he jacks a few just wait they are making a bigger deal out of this then it is

I don't know what his problem is, other then it is obvious he is pressing. The Yanks pitchers have him completely fooled as he is swinging at anything. Granted his numbers agst lefty's all year have been bad, but he just looks absolutely lost now.

Re: Howard Is Series Strikeout King

Honstly ARod has not had that great of a series either. Yes he has a couple key hits which you can not dispute but he is hitting .176 and Howard is hitting .167 so neither of them is going to be MVP. Jeter hits, but then you expect that of him. Despite being a Phillies fan, I can honestly say Jeter is the one guy I want on my team come playoff time. The guy gives you everything he's got, every single game. Utley is damn close and given a longer career, he could match him. I think with an IF of Jeter at SS and Utley and 2B, I couldn't lose.
