Jimmy Rollins has done pretty well making predictions. His latest is sure to rile up New York Yankees fans.
“Of course we’re going to win,” he said on “The Jay Leno Show” on Monday night, two days before Game 1 of the World Series. “If we’re nice we’ll let it go six (games), but I’m thinking five. Close it out at home.”

Sorry Rollins but I'm pretty sure you have this one ALL wrong.

I can, but most people in America probably can't locate Philadelphia on a map. Most can probably locate New York on a map. Know why? Cause thats where its at!

Like I said... typical NYer. Most people in American are lucky then can locate the US on a map. And I wonder why when I tell people here I am American, I get a crappy look. Of course when I say I am not from NY, then I get a better attitude.

Well we didn't have some outspoken mediocre at best infielder come out and make a prediction like that. The only way the Phillies would win would be atleast 6 games. They just aren't as good as the Yankees. My orginal prediction of win in 6 is still good though.

Do you realize that year was one of two things-

1. A terrible pick, Matt Holiday, Hanley Ramirez, and David Wright all had much better seasons.

2. A very dry year in the NL as far as talent goes.

Jimmy Rollins hasnt batted over .300 except for his first year, and he only played in 14 games so it would most likely keep him out of any leaderboards. He also never had a 95+ RBI season. He may be better tahn mediocre, but he isn't great. The gold gloves is almost always a pupularity contest. It is pretty much a joke.

Jeter is/was/always will be, a better player than Rollins.

It pains me to say this... but I have to back Jeter. Rollins has had one great year and has teased us with greatness the rest of the time. Is Jeter over rated.... yes. If he played anywhere other then NY would he be as popular... no way. However the guy can play and he is one of the only guys in baseball who gives 100% every game win or lose. He is the current generations Pete Rose. I have met him and he is the nicest guy. He is exactly the type of player you point out to kids and say "That's how you want to play the game". Chase Utley is the only other guy I could say the same thing about, and maybe, Joe Mauer. Rollins is good, no doubt, but there are just the little things he doesn't do to make the team better.... like I said, it pains me to admit that as Phils fan for over 40+ years but its true.
