Sunday, January 11, marks the 33-year anniversary of the Flyers defeating the Soviet Red Army team at the Spectrum. Here, contributing writer Bill Meltzer takes a look back at that memorable day.

They had a video tribue about this during the Philly broadcast of the game yesterday!

Very cool moment for the NHL! And the Flyers!

I still remember watching this game. My brother gave my the Summit Series on DVD for last Xmas... well worth it. I never realized (being a Flyers fan) how great of a player Phil Esposito was, but he was great in that series.
