I am a vintage electronic handheld game collector who knows almost nothing about hockey. I'm trying to identify the players in this game overlay from 1979?. Can you tell who these people are and if this was a famous picture? I've found it used in 3 separate games. Any insight you have will be appreciated.

I believe it may be famous, but I'm not sure. Might be Hextall in the picture, and the other guy I have no clue about.

Hi. I did some looking around I found that Philadelphia Flyers goalie Pelle Lindbergh wore the #31.
I have no idea who #20 for the Edmonton Oilers would be, though. Sorry, but hopefully someone else can help out!

That doesn't look like the sweater the Flyers wore in the 80's. That looks more like a mid to late 70's sweater, though.

Pelle Played for the Flyers from 1981-1986.

OK, that was a goalie named Phil Myre.

He played for the Flyers from 1979-1981.

He was 24-12-19, with a 3.71 GAA.

Sweater number 31.

Someone else has to find the Oiler!

I'm pretty sure the photo is from 1979. I found a site that indicated the Oilers Jersey was a 1979 Jersey( only worn that year). Thanks for your help. I spent hours on this, I should have checked here first. Hopefully someone will know the Oiler.

I did find a 1979 Oilers roster, but wouldn't you know it, no numbers were listed. I'll keep looking.

You guys are fantastic! That A to Z encyclopedia has been very helpful already. I'm a firm believer in no good deed goes unpunished so... I have a couple more I need help with if you can. Sometimes these pictures aren't real people, they could be just artwork, but if you could give me your opinions I would appreciate it.
