| Sundin a Flyer? I listen to 610WIP religiously...and some rumors have arisen on the mid-day show about a possible deal for Mats Sundin, with the flyers giving up Jeff Carter....just wondering if anyone has heard any further information on possible acquisitions..Forsberg info is welcome too.. |

| Re: Sundin a Flyer? thats what i've been thinking about sundin....carter seems like too much to give up, especially since sundin, turning 37 in 2 weeks, may have a year or two left...if they were to get him by some divine miracle without giving up carter...they have to win the cup this year.. which brings me to forsberg... another player that gives them the extra push for THIS YEAR...i love peter...but where would they fit him in?...especially with danny briere commanding the powerplay..is forsberg willing to take a backseat like that?..riley cote, steve downie and jim dowd would be names on the chopping block if he comes back...lupul will be back soon enough hopefully which would send one of them to the phantoms anyway.. there is definitely potential for this year.. |

I've heard that rumour re carter. but the Forsberg thing - didn't he leave on really bad terms last time? |

I think the red uniform just wouldn't bring out the color in his eyes... |

I paint a lot, and I pay attention to colors art wise...but on a jeresy, as I type fast from work...I am happy to be in the ball park... |

I don't think he left on bad terms, but Philly did want to re-sign him, and he wouldn't do it. It was my understanding he didn't want to play anymore until he was healthy, and I think he feels healthy now. As far as cap room goes, I think only paying him for half a year the salary would be pro-rated. That would make them able to pull it off. Detroit, Vancouver, and Colorado are strong candidates, from what I've read, but he does want to come back here. As much as I like Sundin, (he is among my favorite Non Flyers), I wouldn't give up 10 or more years of Carters career for him. I think the Flyers need more than Sundin for a cup run, so why give up young talent? |
