Hey the Flyers played dirty. Imagine that.....
Dirtier than I realized, as I flipped from that game to the Canadiens (watched more of the Habs) so missed the dirty set ups. The Umberger hit from the game before was bad, but not dirty.
Hitchcock is a tough one to figure - players have hated him, and he looks like this really nice fluffy grandpa - but I think he's got alterior motives.
What is it about the Flyers that makes them eternally dirty? gagne excepted.

The City?...or maybe the want to be like the Flyers of the 70's...or maybe Bobby Clarke (ishe still the GM?) likes to bring on those types of players to relive his glory days...
