Flyers vs. Islanders

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - The trade deadline passed and Jason Blake was relieved to still be a member of the New York Islanders. He celebrated by scoring three goals a few hours later.

Blake also added an assist while Trent Hunter's second goal of the game with 30.7 seconds left in overtime gave the Islanders a 6-5 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night. New York traded for all-star Ryan Smyth after deciding to keep Blake, its leading scorer.

"I came to the rink this morning for the morning skate, and I didn't know if I'd be bringing my equipment home," Blake said. "I was pressing a little bit, but it's nice to hit the 30-goal mark."

Cool Re: Flyers vs. Islanders

The Islanders were up 5-2 and then just assumed the game was won and fell asleep. I was so furious They were lucky to get 2 pts. Give the Flyers a ton of credit. They had every reason to quit and kept playing.

And how about Blake getting a hat trick in the 1st period, after almost getting traded?
