Could two TEs be replacing T.O.? According to this story, "Since Terrell Owens departed the Philadelphia Eagles, a lot of attention has been given to the team's wide receivers... But the Eagles hope tight ends L.J. Smith and Matt Schobel can pick up some of the slack." I've always been high on Smith, not so much on Schobel though. Will these guys play big roles in the Philly passing game in '06?

Nope...that's going to shorten the field, and they will not be as effective.

But if Smith/Schobel start playing well, won't that force defenses to respect them and thus create more opportunities for the wide receivers to get open? I would certainly think so. I doesn't hurt to have a good dump off valve.
