Eagles LB Dhani Jones has been soundly criticized for his play last season -- 105 tackles, 0 sacks, 1 INT. But then, the entire Philadelphia LB corps only had one sack on the whole season, and the team managed their lowest sack total since 1978.
''I don't think it's one person; one outside linebacker or another outside linebacker,'' Jones told reporters yesterday. ''It's the whole team. The score on the board says X-amount to X-amount, and we didn't come out on top. The offense didn't score, and the defense didn't get the ball back, and there's a couple of plays that special teams might have messed up. In my book, it's a team effort. To other people, it might be a single person... ''I'm a good ballplayer despite what anybody says... Anybody who watches me knows I make plays."
