The Associated Press: Eagles Cut Spikes Is this 10 year veteran with 139 tackles last year done after his shoulder surgery? Or is he still good for awhile yet?

| Re: Eagles cut Spikes Can he stillplay in a limited role..sure. It all depends on the money he wants. That is what the salary cap...does it allows teams to focus on cheaper, younger players. If you are a vet coming off an injury year, you best believe you are going to get cut because no team wants to be paying a guy $6M to sit ont he bench. By cutting Spikes the Eagles save a huge chunk of change. Their 3 starting LB combined only earn $2.2 total. thats why they could sign Samuels and possible make a deal on draft day. |

| Re: Eagles cut Spikes You are probably right. They will give him a contract with lots of incentives. They let Seau go so he would fit in good there. |
