I agree. I think the Pats should start thinking about playing that rookie they drafted when they're completely out of contention because it seems that McNabb's best days are long behind him. They did draft that kid pretty high.

McNabb is being listed as doubtful for this game. Does that change the potential outcome for anyone?

Change the outcome ?? Yes and no. If it does change the spread may be larger but it'll still be a loss for the Eagles. I was actually a bit surprised that the spread didn't increase by more with the announcement that McNabb might be out. Last I saw it was 23.5. I would have thought his being out would have raised it higher.

Re: Eagles vs Patriots

looks like AJ Feeley will be the starter

he was 13/19 with 1 TD and 1 INT against Miami last week ..... yeah, the spread should go up

Why not give the rookie some reps...its not like the Eagles really think they got a chance at the playoffs, right?

Re: Eagles vs Patriots

I can see it now. A 23.5 point spread that we'll more than likely exceed .... once again we get accused of running up the score. If we don't then we'll be viewed as a team falling under the intense pressure. What'll be the correct score for just another victory without the cynicism ??

I think both teams need to meet at midfield and agree on the final outcome... The Pats need to say, hey we need at least +24 in this to cover...the Eagles can say, we will give you +24 but when we insert our rookie QB you got to let him feel good about himself...final score 44-20. Eveyone goes home happy.

I'm sure a lot of people will be happy if it is that close. I suspect a lot of it depends on if and when they take Brady & Moss out .... IF !!

dont think thats a good idea ...... the Pats have been debated about as being one of the greatest teams of all time (i dont care if they are or not .. just the fact that people have been debating it) ....... let's say this years NE team is in the top 10 all time .... is that really who you want the future of your franchise to get his first start against ?

Re: Eagles vs Patriots

I would absolutely not put that rookie in. It could set him back years putting him into the grinder like that.

I think the final score will set a new record. The Philly fans will be booing, and saying crap that would make a sailor blush, and that will fire up the Pats, more than ever.

I think they might break 70 tomorrow night, and the rowdiness in that stadium might be national news. If anyone is sober enough to see it. After those fans tailgate all day, they are gonna be juiced up. They might just boo from the opening kickoff until about the 35-3 point, and the place will be 3/4 empty after half time.

Final score, 77-17. And those TD's will be defensive ones. One Akers FG for the offense. A loooooooooooong one.

To me, they have one of the best 3 offenses I have ever seen. The only ones to rival it would be the 99 rams and I forget which year Vikings. It was the team that is going to lose their scoring record to the Patriots.

Many, maybe most, here in the area have come to realize McNabb is pretty much cooked/over. There may be a title or championship some where down the road once again for the Eagles, but Donno won't be the QB to see or lead it. As you note above, the odds makers are now clearly sending their acknowledgement of the same.

Philly ought be looking to move him. There are a number of teams where his remaining skills may give him opportunity to contribute. To preserve some of his marketability, they might be wise to sit him even if he could go tonight.
