| Re: PhiladelphiaEagles Brodrick Bunkley How? How in the world can The Eagles take a defensive lineman with that first pick? They had a choice between the top rated Wide Receiver (Santonio Holmes) or the fourth or fifth rated D-lineman... and they go with the latter! When they have a receiving core that is unmatched as the worst unit in all of professional football. This was a no-brainer to me. Then they pick up two more 2nd and 3rd options in Jeremy Bloom and Jason Avant (They could have at least acquired Jonathan Orr and Derek Hagans, two higher rated receivers) when they already have about four of these. In my opinion they wasted those two draft picks. They need a marquee playmaker that can replace Terrell Owens, not two more Reggie Browns. I mean, because of the clubhouse drama are they refusing to acknowledge how much more explosive and potent the offense was with him on the field? He made everyone better. The ironic thing is, Philly is the one franchise that needs a top ten receiver because they refuse to run the ball on more the 25% of the plays. As of now they do not have one in the top forty. There is a reason The Steelers seemingly own The Eagles everytime they play, Pittsburgh gets it done on draft day. To quantify how bad that first round pick was, the disparity between Santonio Holmes and the receivers they drafted in later rounds is much greater than the Defensive lineman in the same late rounds and Brodrick Bunkley. This is on top of the fact that there defensive line concerns are not nearly as great those at wide receiver. Its almost like Terrell Owens is the girl that cheated on her boyfriend, The Eagles. And the experience instilled so much bitterness that he grows too hate all women, or as this case may be, wide receivers. May the offense will be fine with this arrangement and maybe it won't, but I have a message for the Eagles: you cannot punish all wide receivers for what Terrell Owens did to you. Quit being so petty and vindictive and do what is necessary. Though I do like the Winston Justice move, that was a great value pick. |
