CB Sheppard to miss week for Eagles

Hard-luck cornerback Lito Sheppard likely will miss the Eagles' Monday night home opener against the Washington Redskins with an injury to his left knee. Sheppard sustained a mild tear of the medial collateral ligament during the 16-13 loss in Green Bay. Eagles coach Andy Reid said that he expected Sheppard back for Week 3 against Detroit. -- Philadelphia Inquirer
